Disney Ariel Eyeshadow Set

Hi everyone!

Here's the last mini review over the final Walgreens exclusive Disney cosmetics set that I picked up - the Under the Sea Eyes set.

The set comes with two elf eyeshadow duos and a felt tip eyeliner pen.

The eyeshadow swatches were all done without a primer, and as you can see, they are super pigmented. I have plenty of elf eye shadows that I like, but these seem just extra pigmented to me. I have worn these a couple of times already, and I just love them!

As far as the eyeliner pen goes, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. When I swatched it, the pigmentation wasn't too dark for a black, and it skipped some. I haven't tried it on my eyelid yet, but just from the swatch, I can say that this isn't the best liner ever. The regular black liquid liner by elf soooo much better.

Anyone else have this set? Thoughts? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!!

Disney Ariel Bronzer Set

Hi everyone!

Continuing my mini review of the Walgreens exclusive Disney cosmetics sets I picked up - today I'll be showing you the Ariel Bronzed Beauty Set from elf Cosmetics.

This set comes with a bronzer compact, in the most adorable packaging I might add, and a mini kabuki brush.

The bronzer looks rather dark in the pan, but it actually swatches much lighter.

From top to bottom: The dark shade of the bronzer alone, the golden splotches, and them swirled together.

Left to right: Dark shade alone, golden splotches, and mixed together.

These swatches were done on my arm from the finger swatches, so they look pretty pigmented here... but when I have actually tried to apply this bronzer to my face with a brush, I can't even seen that it adds any color to my face; it just makes it a little glittery from the golden parts.

Even though this didn't really work out as a bronzer for me, I will be using this as an eyeshadow - no point in wasting a pigmented product. This could also be used as a chest/arm shimmer for going out.

The kabuki brush that came in the set is surprisingly not bad. Now, I love most elf brushes, but sometimes brushes that come in kits are just not the best quality. This brush has really dense bristles and picks up a fair amount of product. The small size makes it good for contouring around the face and in the hollows of the cheeks.

All in all, this little duo was $4.99, and I have to say, while it's not the best bronzer in the world, this set is adorable and I am glad I picked it up.

Anyone else have this set? Thoughts? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Hi everyone!

So as I stated in my last post, I will be giving you all a closer look at the Walgreens exclusive Disney cosmetic sets that I picked up - today is the Snow White Nail Polish Kit.

Since I purchased this kit for my friend, I'm not going to open it up and swatch anything, but I did want to tell you what was in it and give you a closer picture of everything.

Inside:

Two nail colors - black and gold - which are in bottles that double as both regular nail polish and nail art pens.

Two nail foils - gold and rose gold

Three nail art decorations - silver glitter and red and gold nail caviar beads

One pair of tweezers for putting down the nail art items

One nail file

One container of nail polish remover wipes

Disney Cosmetic Sets at Walgreens

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share some new items with you that I found at Walgreens that I personally thought were super exciting - Disney Cosmetic Collection Sets!

Currently they have sets featuring Ariel from the Little Mermaid and Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

I picked up the two Ariel makeup sets for myself and the Snow White nail kit for my friend. I will be posting more detailed pictures of the purchases I made later this week.

There are more sets/items available, but practicing self control... I resisted buying them all.

All of the sets are Walgreens exclusives and are available in select stores and online. Not all of the Walgreens in my area had these sets, and the Walgreens I found these at did not have all of the items available, so it may just be easier to order online if there are specific things you want.

So far I have seen an eyeshadow set, a bronzer and/or blush set, a lip set, a look book set, a brush set, and cosmetic bags for each Ariel and Snow White by elf Cosmetics - eye lash sets for each princess by Ardell - and nail polish sets for each of the two princesses.

Here is a link for the Ariel items Walgreens' website:

http://www.walgreens.com/search/results.jsp?Ntt=ariel+cosmetics

For some reason the Ariel look book and nail polish set doesn't show up online.

Here's a link to the Snow White items on Walgreens' website:

http://www.walgreens.com/search/results.jsp?N=2000010614&Ntt=snow%20white

The cosmetics bags, lashes, and nail set doesn't show up online.

Are any of you excited by these sets? Bought any? Plan on buying any? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

elf Glitter Primer

Hi everyone!

I'm still catching up on some reviews from my elf haul I did back in April, so today will feature the elf Glitter Prime.

This primer was new at the time I ordered it, and for only $2, I decided to give it a try.

I've used it a few times now, and I must say, I do rather like it.

Initially it goes on white, but when you rub it out, it goes on perfectly clear.

I've used this for both glitter (as it's name suggests) and as just an eyeshadow primer.

As a primer for regular shadow, I find that it works well - it holds the shadow in place for much longer than not using a primer, it doesn't seem to make the shadow crease, and it does make shadow a little bit more intense looking. I personally have really thin skin on my eyelids, which means you can see my veins, so I do use foundation or tinted primer underneath this to cover up that little issue.

As primer for glitter, I also think it works really well. I have never used another glitter primer or adhesive before, so I can't say if it works better or worse than any other glitter primer out there, but I do know that this product does it's job. One of the things about it that impresses me the most, is the fact that it can be layered over eyeshadow without smudging it, or making it looks different in any manner (I pat it on the lid when applying it over shadow). This way, a color can be put down on the eyelid before placing glitter.

Bottom Line: If you're looking for a cosmetic glitter primer, or an eyeshadow primer that can be used in a versatile manner (primer and glitter adhesive), I would definitely recommend giving this product a try. For $2, I really don't think you can go wrong.

Has anyone else every tried this? Thoughts? Other glitter primers you like? Let me know.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Fresh Paint Nail Polish Drying Drops

Hi everyone!

One more quick review over a product that I picked up in my mini nail polish haul - over the Fresh Paint Nail Polish Drying Drops.

I picked these drops up at Five Below a few weeks ago. Five Below is a type of dollar store, where everything is $5 and under. They just opened one up in my area a few months ago, so I don't know if they're in a lot of areas yet. I know Essence, which is sold at Ulta, also makes a similar kind of product, though I've never tried the Essence ones because my Ulta is always sold out, or just doesn't carry them.

Anyway, after painting your nails, you're supposed to use the dropper that comes in this bottle to drop some of the product on top of your wet nails.

I have mixed feelings on if this stuff really works or not.... The drops do dry the nail polish instantly - to an extent. If you touch your nails, they do feel dry, but you still can't really do anything right away, because your polish will still slide around and get all messed up.... so you still have to wait a while before doing anything. That being said, I still use these drops after painting my nails - at least it takes away the stickiness and makes it a little less annoying to wait while they dry.

Anyone else use these drops or the ones by Essence? Thoughts?

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Pure Ice Base Coat

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you another quick review from my mini nail polish haul over the Pure Ice Base Coat.

First off, while this looks orange in the bottle, it goes on completely clear.

So I am not one to spend much money on a base coat - I mean, has anyone really noticed much of a difference? I know I haven't. The main thing I care about with a base coat, is that it protects my natural nails from being stained by nail polish - and this does the job. The base coat I had been using just got old, and it was time to toss it; that's why I picked this up in the first place. This base coat was only $1.97 at Walmart, and I think it was a wonderful investment. If you want something to protect your natural nails from polish stains on a budget, give this a try.

Anyone else try this? Thoughts? What's your favorite base coat?

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Strenghthener

Hi everyone!

Just a quick little review of one of the products from my mini nail polish haul - the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Strengthener.

I picked this up from Walmart a few weeks ago now, and I have already used it several times.

I've been applying this to my natural nail, underneath my base coat, before painting my. I don't know if it's really strengthening my nails or not, but I have noticed that it does fill in ridges (as the package claims), which makes my nail polish go on much smoother than it did before I started using this.

While I'm not necessarily blown away by this product, and I haven't noticed a dramatic difference in my nails being stronger - for $2.97 , it wasn't a disappointing purchase. I will continue to use this before painting my nails so that my polish goes on smoother. If you have a lot of ridges on your nails and want to fill them in, I recommend picking this up and giving it a try.

Anyone else try this? Thoughts? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Mini Nail Polish Haul

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you a small nail polish haul I got a while back.

I picked up six new nail polishes/nail related products. I'll be doing a review on these products in posts to come if you are interested.

I picked up these three products Walmart.

1. Sally Hansen Hard as Nail Strengthener - My nails go through phases of being really healthy and then just deciding to break, so hopefully this stuff helps out during those times.

2. Sally Hansen Big Smoky Top Coat - I just thought this looked really cool to try out as an alternative to a regular, clear top coat.

3. Pure Ice Bottom Line - This is just a nail polish base coat. Walmart didn't have a huge selection of base coats to choose from, and I needed a new one, so I figured why not.

Then I picked up these next three items from Five Below. If you don't have a Five Below near you, it's a dollar type store where everything is $5 or less. We just got one in my area maybe a month or so ago, if you have one near you, check it out - pretty cool stuff.

1. Fresh Paint - These are polish drying drops. You're supposed to be able to put this on top of your polish and have it dry instantly.

2. Funky Fingers - Just a good ol' white polish.

3. Funky Fingers - This is a pretty large confetti type polish.

Again, I'll have reviews and swatches of these products upcoming soon, so if you're interested - look out for that.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

elf HD Lifting Concealer

Hi everyone!

Today I have another elf review for you over their HD Lifting Concealer. I'm really trying to get caught up from my elf haul from April.

On my quest to find a cheaper under eye, brightening concealer... and well, let's be honest, also in my quest to try out more elf products (because I love most of them), I picked this up. Plus it was on sale at the time, so hey can't beat that.... right?

Since I wanted this to be more of a brightening concealer for under my eye area, I picked it up in the color "brightening," which as you can see it kind of a pale yellow. In this concealer they also have skin tone shades in light, medium, and dark - and corrective colors in lilac and green.

When I swatched this, I thought it was creamy and a color that would brighten like it was supposed to... but after trying it out a few times... not really. It's actually pretty sticky, and it really doesn't do anything noticeable at all. I even tried it as a highlighter... nothing.

I'm really kind of sad that I bashed on two elf products in one week, because I really do love the brand as a whole, but they are just really missing the mark on some of these concealers.

I might try to use this as maybe an eyeshadow primer, but as far as a concealer goes, I just don't think this is a good product. At least not this color anyway.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

NOTD ft Flower Nail Polish

Hi everyone!

Today I just wanted to share a quick NOTD post using the two polishes by Flower that I picked up in my Walmart Beauty Haul a while back.

I thought these two colors looked so pretty together, and I just wanted to do something simple and fun to show them off - especially since they are great summer colors.

The blue color is "Good Bud-dy" and the orange color is "Eye of the Tiger Lily."

I will probably be doing a review on these nail polishes soon as well as a nail polish collection post with swatches of all my polishes - so stay tuned for that if you're interested.

Anyone try the brand Flower yet? Like these colors? More NOTD? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

elf Cover Everything Concealer Review

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to review the elf Cover Everything Concealer in the color "Corrective Yellow." I bought this concealer a few months ago now in my elf Haul I did back in April.

It's taken me a while to get around to this review because, well for one I didn't want to just overwhelm my blog with only elf reviews, and I was really unsure about this product.

I wanted to like this concealer... I really did. I got this to try out under my eyes, and from the reviews I read on the elf site, so many people seemed to love this product - I don't get it.

The color is indeed yellow, which is good to balance out dark under eye circles, and it swatches really creamy - also a plus, but that's about it as far as pluses.

When I put this on my face, both under my eye and  on other parts of my face, it creases, streaks, and feels kind of drying. I have used this both under and on top of my foundation, and I just cannot get it to work for me.

I normally really love elf products, but I think they just really missed the mark on this formula.

Final Thoughts:
Even though this concealer is only $2, I would personally save my money if I were you. I really don't think there is anything useful about this concealer, and frankly it is just a disappointment.

Have any of you tried this concealer? Thoughts? Let me know!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Makeup Eraser

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you one of the most exciting and useful makeup/skincare purchases I have ever made - the Makeup Eraser.

This cloth is so absolutely amazing, it removes makeup with just water. That's right no chemicals, just water.

The makeup eraser can be ordered from www.makeuperaser.com - and it comes in this adorable box that looks like a giant pink eraser.

It also comes with this handy little instruction card. Just like it says, all you need to do is wet the cloth with warm water and rub it on your face... and your makeup just wipes right off.

Also, just like this card says, it is totally machine washable. I have washed it about 3 times now, with my regular towels, and it is just fine. It is also stain proof... every bit of makeup comes out of the cloth, unlike normal wash cloths.

As you can see, the Makeup Eraser has a different nap on each side of the cloth. The first side is a short nap, and the backside is long. Supposedly the long side is supposed to be used after removing the makeup on the first side to exfoliate.

I generally have been removing my eye makeup with the short nap and my face makeup with the long nap. Using it this way, since the cloth is so long, I generally have enough space to remove my makeup about six times before I have to to wash it.

The first time I used the Makeup Eraser, I had on a very full face of makeup - which for me is pretty normal.

I had on: Foundation primer, full coverage foundation, concealer, powder, bronzed, blush, highlighter, eyeshadow primer, dark eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, about 5 coats of mascara, and eyebrow gel.

After some warm water and some rubbing, all my makeup came off. I didn't even have to rub or press too hard on my skin - the less roughing up your skin, especially your face skin, the better.

And as you can see, my face looks all nice and fresh and makeup free. What excited  me the most about this, is that after I used it, my face was not all red and puffy. I have rocesea, and when I mess with my skin too much, especially after using makeup removers or cleansers, I am usually very bright red... like a firetruck... not pretty.

Not only was all my makeup gone, my skin felt so very soft and clean. It actually felt very clean, with just water.

First off - sorry this pic is blurry.

Every night after removing my makeup, I use Witch Hazel on a cotton round as a toner all over my face and neck. After using the Makeup Eraser, very little extra product came off on the cotton round, which is unusual. Most makeup removers I have tried, while they looked like they took everything off, left more of a residue behind.

Pricing: $19.99

Bottom Line: This product is absolutely amazing. I'm still in disbelief that I can remove all of my makeup gently with just warm water. I more than highly recommend this product. I am planning on ordering another one myself very soon.

If you wear makeup often, this will save you so much money in the long run  on buying makeup removing products, not to mention, it is so much better for your skin!

Has anyone else used this product? What do you think? Let me know below!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!!!

OOTD Polka Dots & Infinity Scarf

Hi everyone!

Just a quick little outfit of the day from my Walmart clothing haul I did a couple of months ago.

This scarf and shirt came together as a set, and honestly, I wouldn't have paired them together myself, but I love the combination of patterns.

I'm just wearing this with grey dress pants and black heels - wore this to work at my office.

This shirt can also be worn with jeans for a more casual look. That's one of the things I loved about this shirt, it can be easily dressed up or down.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Perfume Storage

Hi everyone!

Today I just wanted to make a quick little post to show you how I store/display my perfume collection. Nothing fancy or special, but it might give you an idea if you're wondering how to store yours.

Personally I like to display my perfume bottles, because I think most of them are attractive, and I like to look at them.

These are the perfumes and body sprays I use most often, so I just leave them sitting on top of my jewelery box for easy access.

And here are some other perfumes that I either don't use as much, or are empty, and I just wanted to keep the bottle. These are on a small shelf I have hanging above my makeup storage cart next to my vanity. Still easy access when I want them, but out of the way.

That's about it... like I said, nothing fancy, but it might give you an idea.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

Hoof Foot File Kit

Hi everyone!

I picked up this Hoof Foot File Kit a while back at Walmart when I was shopping to replace my PedEgg... this was cheaper and had more attachments... so obviously I'm going to go for the better deal.

This kit came with one handle and 3 different attachments: callous shaver, file, and buffer.

The callous shaver is the attachment that is currently on the handle in the picture. It's basically like a razor blade in a special contraption so you don't slice yourself with it. You just hold the blade against really bad callouses like on the big toe, or the ball of the foot, and just scrape/shave the thick, calloused skin down. Bonus: they included a box of replacement blades and a little rubber disc to help replace the blades.

The file is the attachment on the right that looks kind of like a grater. It's basically the same thing as a PedEgg - it shaves down dead and calloused skin.

The buffer is the attachment on the left, and it basically works like a pumice stone to smooth all your foot skin you just filed and shaved down nice and smooth.

Pricing: This kit was around $7 or $8 if I remember correctly.

Bottom Line: I LOVE this kit! So much better than a PedEgg because it comes it more attachments, and it's cheaper. I have really bad callouses from wearing high heels to work everyday, and this really helps me keep them under control. Let's be real - we all get janky feet if we don't take care of them, so pick one of these bad boys up!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!!

Freeman Cucumber Peel Off Mask

Hi everyone!

Yet another Freeman Beauty product post... I know... so many... I just have so many of their dang products. What can I say, I'm a girl on a tight budget that likes amazing products.

I've been using this Cucumber Peel-Off Mask for a couple of years now, so obviously it's a product I like. I don't have a picture of what it looks like on my face, because honestly you can't really see it too well, because it's clear.

This mask kind of comes out like clear glue - it's really sticky and gloopy, and is honestly somewhat of a pain to slather on... but it works well. After applying it (in a thin layer), I let it sit for probably 10-15 minute, or until it is dry to the touch. A little warning, DO NOT APPLY UNDER THE EYE. The under eye area is sooooo delicate and this product will pull that skin and could possibly tear it...ouch! I generally only apply to my T-Zone (nose, chin, and forehead).

When this mask dries, as the names implies, you peel it off. It helps to pull off dead skin and impurities - kind of like a Biore strip for your face.

Pricing: As with all Freeman Beauty masks, this one comes in a 6oz tube for $3.99

Bottom Line: This is a product I've been using for years and one that I am fond of, especially at such a great price point.

Note: This is a more intense mask, so I only use it once or twice a month, if even that. Mainly when my skin looks like it needs an extra lil something.

Anyone else use this? Opinions?

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

OOTD Summer Tank

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to share a little outfit of the day with you. I just realized that when I did a little clothing haul from Walmart back in May, I promised to some OOTDs to show how the clothes looked on... and I only did one.... because I kind of forgot... oops!

This outfit is just super simply and casual for the super hot summer we are having.... well here anyway. The striped, colorful tank top is the piece that I bought recently. It's super sheer and loose, so I paired it with a bright green cami tank underneath. Other than that I'm just wearing denim capris and flip flops that you can't see!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!

elf VIP Lash Kit

Hi everyone!

Continuing some reviews off my elf haul from a while back... today we have the elf VIP Lash Kit.

As you can see, this little kit from elf comes comes with quite a few pieces, which is what promted me to try it.

Clear glue...

Lashes...

A lash holder/shaper...

And a lash applying clamp... thing...

Pricing: This whole kit was $3 under the elf Studio Line

Thoughts: I don't think I like anything at all about this kit. At all. I don't wear false lashes hardly ever, but when I do, I want them not not look like cartoon lashes... unless you know I'm doing a costume... but even then, I wouldn't use these. They are very shiny and very plastic looking and just feel awful... and are unnaturally shaped.

Glue: I tried the glue on different lashes, and it just didn't stick them down.

Lash holder: The point of this little gadget is....?

Lash clamp: I thought this thing would make applying lashes so super easy.... no, not it did not. Actually it made it so much harder. I couldn't see what I was doing, and the shape was so odd and unnatural.

Bottom Line: I would not recommend anyone to buy this for any reason what so ever....I normally love elf, but this was just a big let down.

Anyone else try this? Opinions? Let me know below!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
